Beyond Mind
Holistic models for understanding human cognition and augmentation
About Beyond Mind
What if we could model cognition itself?
Beyond Mind integrates results from labs worldwide into multi-scale models of cognition. We encode how information flows across levels so we can test hypotheses, run simulations, and identify principled ways to assist thinking without replacing it.

Our goal is practical and ethical augmentation: interfaces that help people learn faster, focus better, recall more reliably, and operate safely in demanding environments—while remaining transparent, reversible, and under user control.
How we work
1
Evidence integration
We harmonize datasets and findings (behavioral tasks, neuroimaging, electrophysiology, neuromodulation studies) into a shared knowledge graph and standardized pipelines.
2
Cognitive modeling
We combine causal graphs, dynamical systems, and agent-based models to represent core processes: perception, working/episodic/semantic memory, reasoning/planning, and attention/control. Models are validated against external benchmarks and ablation tests.
3
Interface modeling (I/O)
We prototype input and output channels—sensory overlays, attention/working-memory support, motor-assist decoders, closed-loop controllers—then simulate performance, stability, and failure modes before any real-world application.
4
Open release & validation
We publish code, transforms, and evaluation protocols; invite third-party replication; and update models continuously as new evidence arrives.
